Choosing what fits

Different contractors have different gaps — we've structured our services around that

Some contractors need everything — full-scope monthly accounting with job costing, WIP reporting, and compliance documentation all handled. Others already have accounting in place but need a reliable, focused service for cost tracking at the job level. And some contractors have solid books but run into compliance requirements that need a specialist's attention.

The three services below can be used independently or combined, depending on what your situation actually calls for. If you're unsure which fits best, reach out — we'll help you figure it out.

Service 01

Construction Industry Accounting

Full-scope accounting designed around the project-based nature of construction. This service covers everything from daily transaction coding through monthly financial reporting — structured so your books reflect how your business actually works.

The chart of accounts is set up with job cost codes and phases as the organizing structure. Cost entries are coded to the correct job and category from the start. WIP schedules are produced as a regular deliverable, not an afterthought. Retainage is tracked separately on both the billing and payable sides. Progress billing is reconciled against completion percentages.

What's included

Full monthly bookkeeping with job-level cost coding

Per-project and company-wide profit and loss reporting

Monthly work-in-progress schedules

Retainage tracking on receivables and payables

Progress billing reconciliation by job

Year-end financial statements structured for bonding and lending

Direct access to your accounting team for questions

Service 02

Job Cost Tracking & Reporting

Detailed cost tracking at the project level — materials, labor, subcontractor payments, and equipment usage, each coded to the appropriate job and cost category. Reports delivered on your schedule so you can see where each project stands financially.

This service works as a stand-alone offering for contractors who already have general accounting in place, and it also integrates cleanly alongside the full Construction Industry Accounting service for deeper project-level reporting. Report delivery frequency adjusts to project pace — weekly for fast-moving jobs, monthly for longer-duration work.

What's included

Cost entry coding by job, phase, and cost category

Materials, labor, subcontractor, and equipment cost separation

Budget-to-actual comparison reports per job

Weekly or monthly report delivery based on project pace

Progress tracking against original cost estimates

End-of-project cost summary and variance analysis

Contractor Compliance Documentation

Service type

Investment

Suited for

Contractors bidding on public or large private projects that require financial prequalification

Service 03

Contractor Compliance Documentation

Financial documentation organized and prepared for contractor licensing, bonding applications, and project prequalification. The package includes everything typically required — financial statements, work-in-progress schedules, and supporting documentation — presented in the format specified by the requesting agency.

This is a project-based service, not a monthly retainer. It's appropriate for contractors who regularly bid on public or large private work that requires financial prequalification, and need those packages prepared consistently and correctly without assembling them manually each time.

What's included

Compilation of financial statements in required format

Work-in-progress schedules formatted for prequalification review

Supporting schedules and supplemental documentation as required

Review of agency-specific requirements before preparation begins

Final package organized for submission in specified format

Available for both bonding applications and licensing renewals

A note on pricing

The monthly service fees above are based on typical engagement scope. For contractors with particularly large project portfolios or complex cost structures, an adjusted engagement may be appropriate — we'll discuss this before any agreement is made. The compliance documentation fee covers one complete application package; subsequent packages are available at the same rate.

From clients

What the work looks like in practice

"We were running five jobs at once and had no reliable way to check which ones were profitable mid-project. The job cost reports changed that. Now we have a weekly look at where each project stands, and it's changed how we manage the work."

— Callum Brecht, General Contractor · March 2026

"The compliance package we needed for a municipal prequalification used to take weeks of internal effort to assemble. Having it handled by someone who does this regularly — and knows exactly what the agency wants — cut that down to a few days of back-and-forth."

— Vesna Hawthorn, Specialty Trade Contractor · February 2026
